Foam thickness sets the volume, softness and look of a garment. Here is how manufacturers usually decide.
Request a Quote Download catalog (PDF)T-shirt, seamless and sports garments usually use thinner foam for a smooth, light look. Push-up and padded evening wear use thicker foam for volume. Swimwear often sits between the two, because the cup must stay light when wet.
Thin, light fabrics show the cup edge and thickness more. A heavier or textured fabric hides more. Test the foam under your final fabric before ordering in volume.
The same thickness looks different in different shapes. A plunge or balconette cup of the same foam gives a different result than a round cup, so choose shape and thickness together.
Thicker foam is heavier and warmer. For summer, sport and swimwear, keep it as thin as the design allows.
We make thickness to your request with no minimum order, so you can test samples in your fabric and adjust before series production.
